Nick Nortcliffe – Vape Product Reviewer

Store Manager & Content Writter

Nick Nortcliffe runs the Alectrofag shop in Old Swan, Liverpool, where he’s been helping people switch from smoking to vaping for over six years. Having quit a 30-a-day cigarette habit himself back in 2014, Nick knows exactly how tough it can be, and how worth the switch really is. That experience helps him connect with customers on a real level, offering advice that comes from someone who’s been there.

But Nick’s not just about vaping, he’s also a writer at heart. He started with detective stories as a kid, and now he writes helpful vape guides, honest product reviews, and blogs for Alectrofag’s website. His goal? To make it easier for people to figure out what’s right for them without all the jargon and confusion.

Nick studied Music and Film at university, which shows in the way he writes—clear, creative, and easy to follow. Whether you’re chatting with him in the shop or reading his work online, Nick keeps things simple, practical, and straight-up useful. When he’s not working, you’ll find Nick enjoying art, music, film, and backing Liverpool FC with serious passion. At the core of everything he does is one belief: when people have the right info, they can make decisions that truly change their lives. .

When did you first join Alectrofag?

I've been running the vape shop since June 2019.

What kind of experience do you have with vaping?

It’s been over 10 years now. I used to smoke 30 cigarettes a day back in 2014. It wasn’t pretty. Then I found vaping, and that was the turning point. I finally managed to quit, and I haven’t looked back since. Ever since then, I’ve been exploring it, learning what works and what doesn’t, and just getting a feel for how helpful it can really be.

Got a favourite product at the moment?

Right now, I’m a fan of the Hayati Pro Max Plus. It’s straightforward, reliable, and easy to explain to someone who's just getting started. That said, give it a few weeks and I’ll probably have moved on to something else. That’s just how it goes.

Any guiding principle you stick to?

I’d say give people the right information, and they’ll make the right choices—maybe not straight away, but over time.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

Honestly, it’s the people. You get all sorts walking through the door. Some are just curious, others are desperate to pack in the cigarettes for good. I’ve been there myself, so I don’t talk down to anyone.

What’s your expertise?

I have a solid grasp of turning complex vape tech into everyday language. Whether someone’s brand new to vaping or just fed up with what they’re using, I try to steer them towards what actually works for them and not what’s flashy or overhyped.

What are your hobbies?

Music and film play a big part in my life and probably always will. I also follow Liverpool FC, which is rarely relaxing but always worth it in the end. Most of the time.
