Store Assistant & Content Writter
Toby Jones has been part of the Alectrofag team for over six years, combining his first-hand experience with vaping and a genuine passion for helping others along their journey. Having started vaping in 2016 to quit smoking, Toby quickly found himself working in the shop,
where he’s shared countless stories and advice with customers over the years. Beyond the shop floor, he’s also put pen to paper, writing vaping guides with a personal touch that only comes from real experience. When he’s not offering advice or writing, Toby enjoys long beach walks, the occasional Piña Colada, and embracing life’s simple pleasures - because, as he likes to say, you can never get enough of the simple things.
It was back in 2016, not long after I’d made the switch to vaping myself. At the time, I wasn’t expecting to end up working in a vape shop, but it just made sense.
It sort of crept in over time. I was already answering the same questions day in, day out, and eventually I thought it might help more people if I just wrote it down. So I started putting together guides and tips. I’m not a technical writer, not in the strict sense, but I do try to keep it personal and useful.
Beginner advice, mostly. Things I wish someone had told me when I started vaping. Also, little day-to-day issues people face, like leaks, burnt coils, nicotine strength, that kind of thing.
That progress doesn’t always look like progress. Some customers relapse, some disappear and come back months later ready to try again.
It’s the people, mostly. Something is rewarding about helping someone quit smoking, especially when they come back weeks later and say it’s actually working. It doesn’t always go perfectly, but that’s part of it, too.
With nearly a decade in the vaping industry, I’ve worked directly with customers every day, troubleshooting devices, recommending products, and walking people through their quit journeys. My writing is grounded in real conversations and hands-on experience, which helps me keep things practical and relatable
I like being near the sea. Long walks on quiet beaches are just something grounding about them. And I do have a soft spot for a good Piña Colada, too.
