First-Time Setup for the Argus G2
If you’ve just received your Argus G2 pod vape kit, here’s how you can get it going. It’s pretty simple once you’ve done it once, but you can use these instructions for the first time.
- Unboxing: In the package, you will find the device, two pods (0.4 Ω and 0.7 Ω), a USB-C cable, the usual paperwork, and a lanyard.
- Charging: It’s always a good idea to plug it in. The USB-C cable goes in the bottom, and any 5 V/2 A outlet will do just fine. You can expect the device to hit full charge in about half an hour. You’ll see the percentage climb as it charges.
- Filling a Pod: Pick a pod and flip open the little rubber cap on top. Tilt it slightly and squeeze your e-liquid down the side. Be careful to stop short of the very top. If it’s a brand new Voopoo Argus G2 kit you are filling, let it sit 5–10 minutes so the cotton can soak up the juice (a process known as priming the coil).
- Installing the Pod: Turn your Argus G2 kit off first, then just drop the pod in. It clicks in magnetically, so you’ll feel it snap into place. If it’s wobbling around, it’s not seated right.
- Powering On & Settings: Press the fire button five times to turn the Voopoo Argus G2 vape kit on. It starts in Smart mode, which automatically sets the wattage for the coil. If you, however, want to change it, two clicks swap modes (Super, Smart, Eco) and three clicks let you adjust the wattage yourself. One click = +1 W. There’s also a little slider on the side for airflow, and you can slide it up for a looser draw, down for a tighter pull.
- Locking the Fire Button (Optional): If you throw your Argus G2 kit in a pocket or bag, it’s worth locking the fire button in the menu so you don’t accidentally activate the vape. But, auto-draw will still work.
- Taking Your First Puff: Either just inhale on the mouthpiece (auto-draw) or hold the button while inhaling. You will get a warm, smooth vape at around 20 W with the airflow halfway open, but feel free to tweak it until it feels right for you.
How to Operate the Voopoo Argus G2
Once you’ve got the Argus G2 set up, it's time to get familiar with its controls. Everything is handled from a single button. Here’s how to work it without digging through the manual.
- Power On/Off: Five quick clicks on the fire button to turn it on, and the same number of clicks to shut it down. You can also turn it off through the menu if you’re not into speed-tapping.
- Firing: Inhale to use auto-draw or press the button. There is no warm-up delay as it’s instant.
- Menu Navigation: Five clicks get you into the menu. Short presses scroll through options (reset puff counter, toggle RGB lights), long press selects. Even with the fire button locked, you can still get in there.
- Wattage Adjustment: Three clicks highlight the wattage, then tap to nudge it up one watt at a time. Once you max out your coil, it loops back down. One press locks it in.
- Vaping Modes: Two clicks cycle Super, Smart, Eco. Hold to confirm. You can still tweak wattage manually even in a preset mode.
- Locking the Fire Button: You can find this option in the menu. Lock it if you’re throwing it in a bag. Even with the fire button locked, auto-draw still works.
- Airflow: That little metal slider controls draw resistance, and you can slide it down for mouth-to-lung, up for direct-lung, or anywhere in between.
- Screen & Alerts: You can see wattage, puff count, resistance, and battery percentage. If something’s wrong (loose pod, dry hit), the screen tells you, and the device buzzes.
- Passthrough Vaping: You can vape while your Argus G2 device charges. The screen fades in and out with the charging info while you puff.
Voopoo Argus G2 Pod Compatibility
The Argus G2 works with Voopoo’s Argus pod ecosystem. It comes with 2 mL top-fill pods at 0.4 Ω and 0.7 Ω. All other Argus Pod cartridges are compatible as well; that includes the Argus RDL pods (1.0 Ω) and even the original Argus pods (0.4 Ω, 0.6 Ω, 0.8 Ω, 1.2 Ω) from earlier kits, although it is optimised for the new top-fill coils. I love voopoo vinci but wanted to try the argus for the 3ml pods. In really please I have changed to the argus love the screen which shows the battery life left. Its great no more having the battery die. Love being able to change the power and the airflow button is great not hard to slide but doesn't move in pocket or handbag so stays where you set it. Side fill is really easy too compared to vinci no trying g to pop top off to fill.
