About Refillable Vapes
What are Refillable Vape Pens?
Refillable e-cig pod systems are the newest versions of vapes that allow manual filling of e-liquids and come with rechargeable batteries (external and built-in). You get to add your favourite e-liquid without having to purchase a new one every time the juice runs out. The best part? Refillable vape devices are designed for both MTL and DTL vapers. Which means, no matter whether you love the satisfying throat hits or deep, direct-to-lung draws, there is a refillable device for everyone.

How Do You Refill a Vape Pod or Tank?
It's simple. Locate your fill port and fill! But the steps may slightly vary depending on where your fill port is located. The steps for the most common refill styles are listed below:
- Top-Fill: This one is the most common system. With devices like the Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini, you can easily flip off the mouthpiece and fill your juice.
- Side-Fill: In this case, the fill port is located at either the left or right side of the pod. Simply pull off the rubber/silicon seal, insert the e-liquid nozzle, and fill.
- Bottom-Fill: Pods like the Smok IPX 80 Replacement Pod feature bottom-fill designs. You may have to disassemble the device and remove the pod to access the fill port.
Which are the Best Juices for Refillable Pod Vapes?
Guess what? These awesome devices can work with almost all the vape juices, depending on the coil and device type. Their e-liquid compatibility extends from the traditional freebase juices to the satisfying nicotine salts, and even high-VG shortfills. Don’t forget the following points when choosing an e-liquid for your refillable device:
- For MTL devices with high-resistance coils, choose high-PG freebase or nic salts.
- For Sub-ohm devices that run on low-resistance coils, pick high-VG e-liquids.
High Alert!
If you pair the wrong juice with an incompatible refillable vape, you’ll probably end up with harsh throat hits and poor flavour. Even worse? The coil may be damaged, leaving you with extra spending on replacement options.
Frequently asked questions
In some cases, yes. Devices like Vaporesso LUXE XR Max 2 come with replacement coils. When the coil burns out, you can replace it with a new one in the same pod. This saves money on buying complete pods and also reduces plastic waste.
Shop refillable pod kits from Alectrofag. We offer free shipping for orders above £30, and most of our kits come with a free e-liquid. In addition, if you order before 4 pm, we’ll deliver it the same day.
A refillable device works by holding e-liquid in a pod or tank that feeds a coil. The coil warms the liquid into vapour as you inhale. The modern refillable pod kits, like Vaporesso LUXE XR Max 2, feature advanced airflow and wattage settings. This further helps in personalising the experience to your liking.
It can last anywhere from 6 months to over a year, depending on the device and how well you look after it. For instance, a Uwell Caliburn G2 pod kit can last for months if you replace the pods and coils regularly. The Voopoo Drag S has a strong built-in battery that, with proper care, can keep going for over a year.
Yes, refillable kits are more affordable and sustainable. Disposables cost £5–£7 for 600 puffs, adding up to £100+ monthly. A refillable kit costs ~£20 upfront, with £3–£5 e-liquid bottles lasting longer, while reducing battery and plastic waste from disposables.
Beginners should go for basic pod kits that are easy to maintain and handle. If you want a simple device with minimal setup, we’d recommend getting the Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite offers simple use, MTL/RDTL options, and a 1200mAh battery. But if you want more control over your vaping, choose the Oxva Xlim SQ Pro Pod Kit.
The best refillable vape pod systems come from Uwell, Oxva, Aspire and Vaporesso. Caliburn pods are simple, while XROS and OXVA devices let you adjust how it feels.
The GeekVape M100 Aegis 100W Kit has a 2500mAh battery that can last for a day, depending on e-liquid type and vaping habits. Similarly, GeekVape Aegis M100 and Voopoo Drag S 60W also feature the same battery capacity.
The Voopoo Drag S Pro Kit is great for heavy smokers switching to vaping. It has a large 3000mAh battery with a pod-tank system, and supports nic salts for a strong throat hit.
