WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU IGNORE A THREAT!

The year 2020 has been hard for many reasons but the main one is Coronavirus. The world has suffered the loss of many lives and constant fear of “who’s next?”.

We faced the lockdown, shops closed, no family gathering, some people stuck away from home because of lockdown and no meet-ups of any sort. We all faced this together, right? We all know how hard this lockdown phase was.

But now the question is, have we learnt anything from this time or no?

the answer is, unfortunately, NO!

You must be asking why? Well, let’s have a look at the news.

NEWS

Social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal in England from Monday - with some exemptions - amid a steep rise in coronavirus cases.

A new legal limit will ban bigger groups meeting anywhere socially indoors or outdoors. This will not apply to schools, workplaces or COVID’19-secure weddings and funerals.

It will be enforced through a £100 fine if people fail to comply with police, doubling up to a maximum of £3,200.

the PM said in a previous address that:

"We need to act now to stop the virus spreading. So, we are simplifying and strengthening the rules on social contact - making them easier to understand and for the police to enforce. It is critical that people now abide by these rules and remember the basics - washing your hands, covering your face, keeping space from others, and getting a test if you have symptoms."

Let’s have a clear look at the new law:

  • Social gatherings of more than six people in England will not be allowed in law from Monday 14 September
  • The new rule applies to private homes, indoors and outdoors, and places such as bars and cafes
  • The rule does not apply to schools and workplaces, or weddings, funerals and organized team sports
  • A full list of exemptions is due to be published before the law changes
  • People who ignore police could be fined £100 - doubling with each offence to a maximum of £3,200

Overall, there have been 8,396 new cases reported since Sunday - with 2,460 reported on Tuesday alone.

What is causing this rise?

England's deputy chief medical officer Prof Jonathan Van Tam added:

"People have relaxed too much. Now is the time for us to re-engage, and to realise that this is a continuing threat to us."

WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?

Although it was not intentional, we all got a little too excited to exit lockdown that we almost forgot that we have a virus constantly keeping an eye on us.

Waiting for us to get careless so it can grow its roots back. People stopped practising social distancing. People stopped taking precautions, what else can we expect to happen if this was the situation?
