COVID’19 AND YOUR IMMUNITY

by Arslan Ahmad 31 Aug 2020
covid19

COVID-19 is the disease caused by the new coronavirus that emerged in China in December 2019.

The symptoms of this disease include cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, diarrhoea, headache, fatigue, nausea and congestion or runny nose. This problem can be severe and has even caused deaths.

The spread of this disease is from person to person and there is no vaccine made until yet. Prevention involves frequent hand-washing, coughing into the bend of your elbow, staying home when you are sick and wearing a cloth face covering if you can't practice physical distancing.

Scientists have planned to put in a new effort to understand how the immune system responds to coronavirus.

Scientists from 17 UK research centers are trying to answer questions like, how long immunity lasts and why disease severity varies so much.

The new UK Coronavirus Immunology Consortium (UK-CIC) says learning about immunity will help to fight the virus. It has received £6.5m from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Prof Mala Maini, a viral immunologist from University College London, who is leading one of the UK-CIC teams, said:

“Our immune response to a virus is really what dictates how we respond when we get infected, how ill we get when we get an acute infection, how long we're protected after we've had the infection and how well we might respond to a vaccine.”

Since the first case emerged, scientists have been battling to learn about how our bodies respond to infection.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

    • Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables.
    • Exercise regularly.
    • Maintain a healthy weight.
    • If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.
    • Get adequate sleep.
    • Take steps to avoid infection, such as washing your hands frequently and cooking meats thoroughly.
    • Try to minimize stress.
Most importantly,
  • Don’t Smoke.

The effects of smoking on the immune system are greater susceptibility to infections such as pneumonia and influenza more severe ones, longer-lasting illnesses, lower levels of protection in the blood.

In this crucial time, when the risk of death is all around, do we want to indulge our immune system in something that has been proven to be too much harmful than anything else.

Vaping can save you from this because we understand that smokers can’t just go “Cold Turkey” and to overcome this deadly habit you need a good alternative. There is no better option than a 95% less harmful substitute that you can shop online and you don’t have to go out for it.

Final note

To fight this deadly virus, we all need to go hand in hand. We need to act responsible for ourselves and our environment, keeping everything and everyone around you is the key.

Taking care of your immune system is really important and as quick as we realize this, we can fight with this disease.

VAPE ON AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
